Deodorant for Kids: Treating Body Odor in Children

Is Your Child Old Enough to Use Deodorant?

If you feel apprehensive to give your child a commercial deodorant right away when he starts to give off unpleasant body smell, consider giving him natural remedies and treatments for body odor.

Natural Treatments for Body Odor
You can try rubbing cut lemons in your child's armpit when he takes a bath. Some people also apply cornstarch and baking soda to their kids' armpits as these supposedly absorb body odor and kill bacteria.

Other Ways to Treat Body Odor

You should also check your child's diet if he keeps eating spicy and chemical-laden food. These foods can cause kids to give out undesirable smell. You should also make sure that your child is cleaning and scrubbing his armpits thoroughly when he takes a bath and he uses clean and dry clothing at all times.

Choosing Deodorant for Kids
When all these natural treatments for body odor fail, you should get your child to use deodorant for kids. If you can't find antiperspirants or deodorants specially made for kids, you can buy perfume free and mild deodorants that won't irritate your child's sensitive skin. There are also baby powders with alum that you can try.
