Pending Paypal Withdraw Transaction

Update:The fund is finally transferred to the debit card.

Last week, January 24, 2008, hubby made a withdraw transaction from his paypal funds to his EON debit card. Withdrawal transactions from paypal to debit card, as far as our experience is concerned, generally takes only a day or two before the withdraw transaction is marked completed in the recent activity table. We already sent a message to paypal's customer service and hopefully they will be able to put some light on the situation.

I googled for philippine pending paypal withdrawals and realized that we are not the only ones who are having this slow processing of paypal to debit card / credit card withdrawals. A certain Louis has commented at pinoymoneytalk that "A LOT of people are stuck in that pending status".

Maybe this pending paypal withdraw transaction problem is partly caused by the new services offered by paypal. Just recently, withdrawing Paypal funds to Philippine Banks has become available. I also noticed that paypal seems to be having frequent site maintenance lately.

Yes I have and I found this site on blog search. I have counted about 10 people online who are waiting on pending transactions. I called up Paypal, (use Skype Out if you have credit it on it) Paypal basically said, just wait around and implied it was a problem on EON's end.

I do advise everyone with a problem to call or send them an email. I think this post is as good as any for those looking for information to gather around.

I suggest others with pendings to post the date they requested the withdrawal and what bank they used. If you were pending for awhile and then all of sudden go to completed status, comment here as well.

First off, my wife pulled off a withdrawal on the 22nd, it went to complete in about 24 hours and it showed up on the EON account on the 25th. We did a withdrawal on our EON card on the 27th and it is still pending on the Paypal recent activity.

So the problem is from the 23rd to the 27th, at least.

Thank you for the information Louis. So, if the problem is (more likely) rooted to eon, the paypal withdrawal pending problem occurs among Philippine based paypal account holders who use eon to withdraw their paypal funds.

Our withdrawal was initiated on the 24th and it really did fall on the January 23 to 27 period.

I will be posting an update as soon as the withdraw transaction will be completed.

When more than one person has the problem, you know it is a problem not with you, but the system and that is at least a little more comforting.

I am also anxious to see if the withdrawal to bank will take the full 5 to 7 days, hopefully it will err on the side of 5.

I have made a withdrawal from paypal to my EON debit card last January 26 and January 27, both are still pending until now. Its very unusual, I dont know if the problem is on Paypal's end or with EON, but its nice to know that I'm not the only person having this dilemna. I'll make an update later, and hopefully it gets in completed status soon.

We thought about withdrawing via our registered bank account Louis but honestly, we realized it is too risky especially after reading paypal horror stories from yugatech: www.yugatech.com/blog/the-internet/scary-paypal-lockdowns/ and aboutpaypal.org.

@ Donna,

same here, at least hindi lang kami nag iisa sa mundo. To take Louis words: "When more than one person has the problem, you know it is a problem not with you, but the system".

I will make an update as soon as the withdrawal is completed. Too bad paypal withdrawal transactions, unlike payment transactions, cannot be reverted.

What a relief! Sorry ..but I am so relieved that I am not the only one facing this nightmare. I have called paypal Singapore twice. The first time on the 30th January and the second time on the 1st February. On both occasions they told me to be patient. ( Hmm..but for how long? ) I made a withdrawal on the 24 Jan and up till today .. status is still pending. For some reason ( according to customer service Paypal Singapore) their systems and my bank don't seem to recognize each other. And so they are taking it higher ...higher?? ...like hello ...??? ..will you just hurry up and get it fixed!!! Its been 8 days already. Seriously guys, let's be royal pains and great nuisances, email, call and pester them , perhaps they'll work faster!! After all, we are paying for their services.

Angelina,

If your withdraw transaction fell on the 24th, then it is in between the paypal withdraw "problem period" that Louis (please see previous comments) have mentioned. Are you a Philippine based paypal account holder? What bank/ credit card/ debit card did you use? It seems that eon and paypal have problems.

Hi,this is really getting scary. I have noticed that many got the same problem... I have posted about my problem here

Hello Jerome, yes, I have read your post yesterday and I am glad you have blogged about your experience. At least, people will know that there is a system-wide problem that exists when bloggers are posting the same problem about the paypal pending withdrawal.

I checked paypal yesterday and I again saw this maintenance notice. I hope the withdrawals will be completed as soon as their site maintenance is through.

Hey guys, this is an update:

It seems that the problem is really with Eon because other paypal account holders have already successfully transfered funds to their bank accounts. It also means we can withdraw using OUR bank account.

You can check the comments in this post for details:

Exactly. I have seen people withdrawing on the 25th to HSBC visa card with their money already. This is definitely a problem on EON's end.

The black helicopter part of me says that EON knew about the new change and they might have been losing money on the VISA charges so when they found out that a direct withdrawal to the account was available, they just refused to process the charges anymore.

Of course that is probably wrong, but it doesn't change the fact that it seems like it could be plausible.

Hi again, I am a Malaysia based Paypal account holder using the Visa debit card. It seems the problem is wide spread and not isolated with the Phillipine paypal account holders. Strange thing is I have not found any Malaysia based bloggers with the same problem. And up till today, status is still the same...pending. By the way, did some research, something like this happened in with UK paypal holders a couple of years ago too. Check it out..it took quite some time to fix.

Angelina,

If this is going to be a world-wide event, then this could make Paypal an unstable option to accept payments. I mean, pending withdrawals will definitely slow-down any business's cash-flow, right?

rhodilee said...

To Marco,

2checkout and payeree may be good alternatives to paypal. However, most online employers/ companies prefer sending funds via paypal.

Angelina,

Good you mentioned you are a Malaysian paypal account holder which means that the withdraw pending problem also happens in Malaysia and not just here in the Philippines. I wOnder if the problem is with paypal and VISA in general? Eon is Visa and you have mentioned that your card is also VISA.

angelina said...

Yep..this is worrisome. I run a little internet business and well this will definitely affect my cashflow. So..I hope they will solve this soon. Pending status .... 8 days and counting .....Any ideas anyone? I will keep bugging them and calling them in Singapore for sure ....

Hi from India.

I should have seen this before... What a stupid I am. I made a transaction on Feb 24th and the money is still not credited in my bank account. I have transferred money many times before... it usually happens within 2 days, Now it is almost a week and I am waiting for the money.

I notice this problem is widespread... I would like any of you guys made the transfer got their money in their account? Especially after 24th of the month.

I have send couple of mails to paypal and called their US office (No use!!!)

As of Oct 2010 I have had a nightmare trying to withdraw from my account to my regular bank account. All manner of excuses have been forthcoming. I'm in the UK so it has nothing to do with where you live. For those who have a genuine reason to complain PayPal UK are regulated from Luxembourg by the Luxembourg Reglator.
