Sony T20: My Vibrating Digital Camera

I was so pissed off last Christmas because I can't take decent pictures with my Sony T20. My camera looks okay when I view pictures but it starts to vibrate whenever I am taking shots.

My camera is already more than a year old so I guess I can no longer take advantage of its warranty. I thought that this vibrating thing must be caused by my carelessness but when I tried to search online for possible solutions to my vibrating digicam, I learned that Sony has in fact found out that some of their DSC-T20 Cyber-shot cameras (my camera's model) are experiencing abnormal internal vibration and inability to focus and take pictures properly. Sony is offering free repair until July 17, 2011 but the problem is it is only available for units bought in United States.

I bought mine here in the Philippines but I still think about bringing my camera to the sony repair center hopefully by next week. If things do not get better, I might buy a new digital camera this year.

We have the same problem Vera. Sony only accepts free repair for units bought in the US. I bought mine in the Philippines. We have no choice but to bring our vibrating t2o camera to sony repair centers and pay for their service.

Update: Sony T20 users who have this similar problem (vibrating cam) may bring their units to sony centers. Just make sure that you have your camera's serial number with you to avail of the free repair service. I already lost my serial number but only paid around 800 pesos to have my unit fixed.

Nrip, yes the free repair is offered “Out-of-warranty” . The problem is that I have removed the serial number sticker in my camera and the service center needs the serial number for the free repair. I don't want to hassle myself looking for the serial number so I decided to just pay for the service fee.

Same problem with my T20 camera, after 1 year nagvibrate na din. I was so disappointed dahil sobrang gusto ko kuha ng sony camera. Saan poo ba ung sony service center? Do you know their phone number?
